Have you ever wondered what happens when you add salt to ice? or Hypothesised on the slowest or fasted way to melt it? How would you problem solve to excavate natural treasures inside? With ice, mallets, brushes, salt, paints & more, science in nature just got a whole lot fun!

This session has the intention intertwined of the element of water, using the elements of the earth to provoke investigations, explorations, hypothesis & discovery using water in its liquid & frozen state. The children will have opportunity to work independently and co-operatively to manipulate the ice, experiment with water tracks & navigate through planning, reflecting and implementing ideas. Who knew maths & science could be so fun?!

We will also have our tool kit available for the children to access as they need. The children will have opportunity to not only master the skill of each tool but additionally develop patience, perseverance, resilience, & strong fine motor strength, dexterity and manipulation.

WHAT TO WEAR

Please come dressed appropriately for the weather. We recommend wearing long pants, covered shoes, a hat, sunsafe t-shirt and a waterproof jacket and pants in wet weather.

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring a backpack with water bottle and a snack. We encourage you to bring package free snacks.

Please note there is no drinking water on the reserve.

*PLEASE NOTE Raw&UnearthedPLAY will run no matter the weather and will only be cancelled in the event of severe storms, wind or fire. All families will be contacted via email at least 1.5 hours prior to the session starting.
