Raw&Unearthed was developed with the intention to promote a space where children can play outdoors in an unhurried, unstructured environment. We aim to disconnect people from devices and reconnect them with the natural world & each other. Within this space, children are trusted to be in charge of their own choices, experiment with ideas, self-assess risks, explore & discover, test the full capabilities of their bodies and become in tune with their needs, desires & urges. As educators & caregivers, we develop a fluid role, at times we will be there supporting, guiding and encouraging children…other times we are merely observers, catching glimpses of their world from the outside. Then there are times when we are invited into their play and we too get to run free with the wild bush fairies barefoot across the earth. Knowing when to move in and out of a child’s play can open so much opportunity for their learning and development.

A ‘home’ space with rugs is provided for families to comfortably sit and relax under the big gum trees with Old Grandfather Kookaburra watching over as we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land and the country on which we play and learn. The children will have access to Kincumba Mountain Reserve including honeymoon rock and walking trails - so much space to explore!!

Space, trust and unhurried time are the underpinning core values of Raw&Unearthed and allow the child to build self-confidence and self-awareness- essential life skills.

All sessions are run by Early Childhood Educators.
