Curious about that bug you just saw? or Perhaps the squawking birds grasped your attention, come & join us for some exploration fun searching for bugs, observing birds & recording our findings through art.
With books, images, bug boxes, magnifying glasses & binoculars, your child will have opportunity to search & discover in their surroundings at Kincumba Mountain Reserve, perhaps they will find their favourite or discover something new!
The intention intertwined into this session is to encourage children to explore their world through different perspectives, up high in the tress, under rocks or perhaps laying down observing the world upside down. If you have a camera, bring it along so you can capture your findings to add to your journaling after the session. We will be using art to record & document the world around us; colours of the birds, patterns on a bug or maybe the element of changing shape of the stretchy leech.
We will additionally have our tool kit available for the children to access as they need. The children will have opportunity to not only aim to master the skill of each tool but additionally develop patience, perseverance, resilience, & strong fine motor strength, dexterity and manipulation.

WHAT TO WEAR
Please come dressed appropriately for the weather. We recommend wearing long pants, covered shoes, a hat, sunsafe t-shirt and a waterproof jacket and pants in wet weather.
WHAT TO BRING
Please bring a backpack with water bottle and a snack. We encourage you to bring package free snacks.
Please note there is no drinking water on the reserve.
*PLEASE NOTE Raw&UnearthedPLAY will run no matter the weather and will only be cancelled in the event of severe storms, wind or fire. All families will be contacted via email at least 1.5 hours prior to the session starting.
