This session has a intertwined intention of Earth Play. With some delicious mud play, charcoal, clay paint & opportunity to connect with the earth, this session oozes what Raw&Unearthed is all about.

So why do we love mud play? It’s fun of course, but it also provides deeper learning experiences & is great for our health too! From provoking imaginative play to building physical strength, stimulating deep sensory engagement and igniting mathematical concepts, this open-ended resource is just endless in its opportunity. With the addition of jugs, bowls, pots, pans, sticks & paint brushes, you can mix, stir, transfer, measure, weigh & create. You can squeeze it, plop it and in the perfect consistency you can experiment as it flows. Aside from all the benefits it has for play, being in contact with the earth has its own benefits too. Our bodies soak up all the rich goodness as our skin touches the earth.

If you’re not keen on mudpies and getting wholly dirty, that’s ok! Earth Play is more than just mud. It’s about balancing on logs, climbing rocks & connecting with the space. We will have some clay paint on offer as well our tool kit available for the children to access as they need. The children will have opportunity to not only aim to master the skill of each tool but additionally develop patience, perseverance, resilience, & strong fine motor strength, dexterity and manipulation.
